International Buying
and Marketing
In May of 2019, I embarked on an adventure of a lifetime. My plans at the Fashion Institute of Technology never included studying abroad; but, journey called and I answered.
A three-week educational opportunity awaited for me at J.F. Kennedy International Airport. I arrived with a luggage and a mission: to experience new things through the lens of a fashion student. I traveled to London, Paris, Berlin and Florence to visit European cities paramount to the fashion industry.
During my study abroad experience, my goal educationally was to study the various factors involved in fashion marketing and how international customer's attitudes vary about fashion from American customers.

My personal goal was to experience traveling alone - knowing no one but diving in head first. This trip is a treasured memory and one that will never be forgotten. As an individual, I grew during this experience into someone I am proud of. Someone who went after something and did not let fear get in the way.

"I traveled with Sarah on a three-week study abroad course entitled "International Buying & Marketing" during Summer 2019. During our visit of corporate offices, trend forecasting services and retailers, I was able to observe Sarah's commitment to learning. She was engaged at every company and asked excellent questions that added to all the students' understanding of the corporate culture of companies in London, Berlin, and Florence, as well as a better understanding of the day-to-day careers of the professional who spoke with us and presented to us. In addition, Sarah was a delight to travel with; she is independent, mature, and was always on time for appointments. Sarah is friendly and easily made friends with the other students. I enjoyed her participation and her company and I would take her abroad again in a heartbeat. If you are thinking about hiring this student - do it!"
