This course focused on various concepts, perspectives, and methods to developing and implementing the integrated marketing communication program towards all sectors of the retail industry.​

An introduction to modern, fashion business including insight to structures, finances, management, organization, and ethical responsibilities. â€‹

English Compositio

This course specifically focused on the writing process; especially to improve confidence, writing fluency, and the development of a competent self. â€‹

Excel for Business

Provided a comprehensive presentation of microsoft excel and how to apply excel to business concepts.

Introduction to the Fashion Industry

This course covered history, characteristics, and global interrelationships of every segment of the fashion industry.​

​

Philosophy: Ethics

This was an introduction to philosophy through ethics. The course emphasized on logical and conceptual tools for dealing with real-world situations.​

History of Western Art and Civilization: Renaissance to the Modern Era

This course indulged into the history of western art and civilization beginning from the early renaissance to the modern era. Illustrated lectures allowed myself to further expand my knowledge into painting, sculpting, and architecture in relation to religious, political, economic, and social conditions.

Semester 3

Product Development

This course introduced the concepts and methods by which retailers creates store-branded merchandise for targeted customer segments. The process of product development, from research to production to distribution, is studied.

​

Introduction to Direct Marketing

Through case studies and assignments, this course presented a comprehensive overview of the direct marketing industry.  It also introduced the various electronic vehicles used in the fashion industry.

​

Statistical Analysis 

This course specifically focused on the principles and methods of statistical analysis as well as introduced the use of the computer to store, manipulate and analyze data.​

Creative Writing

In a workshop environment, this course examined the processes of writing, critiquing and revising works from fiction, poetry or drama. 

​

Fashion Art & Design

This course covered the basic proportions of the fashion figure, garment details and terminology, and principles of color. It also introduced drawing garments on a human body in 3D or as a technical flat in 2D.

Semester 2

Introduction to Fashion Marketing

This course examined the various marketing concepts used in the fashion industry. Knowledge regarding marketing goals, strategies, and plans grew throughout this course.

Team Development Workshop

An introduction to the importance of working on team and how to incorporate individual member's strengths into building a synergistic team.

​

Contemporary Retail Management

This course specifically focused on the concepts regarding retailing in the fashion industry. Various concepts including how to properly manage and motivate employees, merchandise products, control costs and effectively reduce turnover were touched upon.​

​

Macroeconomics

This course analyzed how choices are made as well as the study of the economy as a whole. Important concepts including supply and demand, gross domestic product, and the functions of money were discussed in depth. 

​

Ecology and Environmental Issues

This course covered the functions of ecosystems and their importance as well as how to improve society to be more sustainable for the future. 

​

Fundamentals of Textiles

This was an introduction to the role of textiles in the fashion industry. Concepts regarding the smallest part of a textile all the way to end use were discussed as well as demonstrations were provided by the Textiles Lab at FIT.

Merchandising Math Applications

This course examined the various formulas and math skills needed to become a buyer in the fashion industry. Profit and loss statements to markups and markdowns to how to write a six month plan were provided in this course.

Semester 4

Fashion Merchandising

This course took a closer look at the merchandising environment in the fashion industry. It revealed the functions and objectives of a merchandising team as well as the principles and techniques of buyers, planners, product developers and account executives in the business today.

Creative Fashion Presentations

Through various presentation techniques, this course allowed students to prepare and present a creative fashion presentation of their own. They learned how to research, analyzed and forecasted fashion trends in order thoroughly understand this role's function within the industry.

​

Microeconomics

This course analyzed the principles of the behavior of business firms, resource owners and consumers within a system of price-making markets. Emphasis is placed on pricing, resource allocation, cost analysis, price determination under market structures ranging from competition to monopoly.

​

Spanish 1

This introductory course enabled students with no background in Spanish to communicate with Spanish-speaking people. The basic skills of speaking, reading and writing are established.

​

Tennis

Taught students the fundamental skills of tennis and knowledge of the game.

​
